The Winnebago County Health Dept. has 3 inspectors. These inspectors oversee all licensed well and septic contractors to ensure proper installation and repair of private sewage and private water systems. They also conduct Loan Inspections for the sale of homes with private systems, inspect complaints of failed systems, inspect septic pumper trucks and conduct plat review for subdivisions without municipal sewer water.

LOAN INSPECTIONS take from 7-10 days to complete and are required by any mortgage or banking facility issuing a loan. Click HERE to download your form. All forms must be submitted with an original signature and payment. On-line payment now being accepted (E-Pay). Please go to www.wchd.org and click on the E-Pay logo for details.
SITE VERIFICATIONS take from 3-5 working days to complete. A site verification is required before making any additions to your property in order to avoid encroaching on your well and/or septic system. Be sure to apply with the Building Dept. as well to avoid delay once your site verification has been approved. Click HERE to download your form.
