HealthWorks of Northwest Illinois is a collaborative effort of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, Public Aid and Human Services to provide comprehensive health services to children in the custody of the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). A health care system has been developed to ensure that children in the custody of DCFS receive accessible, essential and quality health care services.

This system of health care is called HealthWorks of Illinois statewide and HealthWorks of Northwest Illinois in the nine Northwest counties of Illinois: Boone, Carroll, DeKalb, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside and Winnebago County. Winnebago County Health Department is the Lead Agent for HealthWorks of Northwest Illinois.
