Head Lice

Information regarding the treatment and prevention of head lice is available through Winnebago County Health Department. Non-prescription lice products are available for sale.

Eligibility	Any individual wanting to purchase lice treatment products at cost or in need of information for the treatment and prevention of lice.
Cost	Currently two products available for sale: X-PEL(non pesticide shampoo with metal comb) - 6 oz. $8.00 RID(pesticide containing shampoo and small plasitc comb)-not recommended for children under 2 yrs. of age or pregnant women) - 4 oz $7.00 LiceBGone(non-pesticide enzyme shampoo) Family Size 16oz for $15.00, Shower cap for $.50, Lice comb $2.00. (for best results, the manufacturer recommends the use of the shower cap, shampoo and the nit metal comb).
