EHWS STEERING COMMITTEE
The Steering Committee provides a governing structure for the EHWS area.
It convenes key stakeholders, identifies the areas of greatest need
and facilitates collaboration.
Monthly Meeting: 1st Thursday of every month,
5:30 PM at the House of Refuge Church
EHWS COMMUNITY POLICING /LAW ENFORCEMENT
SUB-COMMITTEE
This sub-committee's goals and objectives are to improve cooperation between residents and the police departments to fight crime.
To improve communication between the police departments
and the youth and residents of the area and to reduce violent crime,
prostitution, drug activity and gang activity in the target area.
Monthly Meeting: 3rd Wednesday of every month at 10 AM
at the Ellis Heights United Neighborhod Center
as an alternative to drug use, gang involvement and violent behavior.
To develop Ellis Heights United Neighborhood Center as a Safe Haven
for youth and adults in the EHWS area that provides services
to increase their self-sufficiency.
Monthly Meeting: 2nd Wednesday of every month at 11 AM
at the Ellis Heights United Neighborhood Center
NEIGHBORHOOD RESTORATION / PROBLEM PROPERTIES
This sub-committee’s goals are to improve the appearance,
quality and availability of housing and to improve enforcement
of city and county codes and ordinances.
Monthly Meeting: 3rd Wednesday of every month at 1 PM
at Ellis Heights United Neighborhood Center
