The Violence Prevention Collaborative will honor one individual and one organization with the 2011 Partner for Peace Award during the luncheon, chosen from nominations received from the community. A Pioneer in Peace award, chosen by committee, will also be given to an individual or group who has demonstrated a long-term commitment and dedication to violence prevention. The awards will be presented by Doug Scott, Chairman, Illinois Commerce Commission and former Mayor of Rockford. This year’s emcee is Paul Logli, CEO of United Way of Rock River Valley. The cost to attend the luncheon only is $25.
The VPC focus is on five areas of prevention: child abuse, elder abuse, youth violence, partner abuse and community violence.
