The Bridge Clinic has been offering free treatment to those 18 years and older who are unemployed and/or uninsured since January 2008. The clinic is staffed by dedicated volunteers, and treats health issues such as: high blood pressure, diabetes, coughs, asthma, and minor infections in addition to writing prescriptions. These services will also be offered at The Bridge Clinic from 10 AM - 2 PM while the vaccination clinic is open, as they are each Saturday.
The annual flu vaccine is the best way to prevent the flu and flu-related complications that could lead to hospitalization or death. This season, the Winnebago County Health Department and the CDC are recommending that everyone from six months old and up to get a flu shot.
Another good way to prevent the spread of germs is to follow the “Three C’s”:
Clean your hands - after using the restroom or before eating
Cover your cough - by coughing or sneezing into your elbow or a tissue
Contain your germs - by staying home if you are feeling sick
Getting a flu shot is easy! You can also call the Winnebago County Health Department at 815-720-4264, visit the website at or connect to the Department through Twitter (@WinnCoHealth) or find us on Facebook.
