Do You Need a COVID-19 Test?
You may need a COVID-19 test if you:
- Are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.
- are part of a high-risk population with chronic medical conditions
- are living in congregate situations such as nursing home/retirement housing
- are a healthcare worker or first responder
- are a household contact
How to Get A COVID-19 Test
If you need COVID-19 testing:
- Go to one of the Drive-Thru testing locations in our community (See next section for locations and testing information). OR
- Click here for a list of additional testing sites in our community from the Illinois Department of Public Health. OR
- Call your healthcare provider who can also provide guidance and facilitate testing
Drive-Thru Testing Locations
Thursday, December 30 was the last day of COVID-19 testing at the UIC Health Science Campus - Rockford site. The test site will be relocating to expand capacity on January 2. This State based testing site is moving to a new location.
A drive-thru Community Based Testing Site is available in our community that offers free COVID-19 testing. Anyone who needs a test can come to get tested. No appointment is needed. You can get tested with or without symptoms.
State Community Based Testing Site - Rockford

1321 Sandy Hollow Road, Rockford, IL (former K-Mart site)
Open 7 days a week from 8:00 a.m.– 4:00 p.m. or until daily supplies run out (1000 tests per day).
