Naloxone Trainings

The Winnebago County Health Department offers a free Naloxone training classes for the community. When given in time, naloxone, a non-addictive drug, can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose and save a life. Every home should have naloxone.  Free Narcan kits are provided after completion of the class. 

Naloxone Training sessions will be held on the dates and times below:

  • Upcoming Virtual Training Sessions*:
  • Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 6:30pm-7:30pm
  • Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 6:30pm-7:30pm
  • Wednesday, October 27, 2021 from 6:30pm-7:30pm

*The first Wednesday of each month, training will be held in Spanish.

Trauma Informed Community (TIC) Trainings

The Winnebago County Trauma Informed Community has developed a standardized Trauma 101 training to introduce trauma to the community. Have you taken Trauma 101 yet?

Food Code Trainings (Entrenamiento sobre el código alimentario-Desplácese hacia abajo para español)

The Winnebago County Health Department (WCHD) is implementing changes to the food code based on the Illinois Department of Public Health’s adoption of the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 2013 Food Model Code. The changes will be in effect starting January 1, 2019.

WCHD is holding education trainings on the new food code for food and beverage establishment owners and operators. These trainings will identify crucial steps to preventing foodborne illness and help food operators understand the changes they need to implement this year in order to be in compliance with the code.
